Level I Electrical Engineer Job Description
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of electrical components, equipment and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments as necessary. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. Familiar with a variety of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. Works under the supervision of a senior or lead electrical engineer. A modest degree of creativity is required. Interacts with the project's technical lead, group leaders, senior engineers, machinists, electronic/mechanical technicians, and administrative assistants. The duties listed above are intended only as general illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. A. Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Electrical Engineering
B. Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills: NSS currently maintains two "tracks" for electrical engineers, including the microwave track and the digital circuit track. These tracks are characterized as follows:
* Microwave track: Strong computer analysis skills, Microwave design tools (Genesis, Microwave Office, ADS, etc), Microwave/RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc) and various PC skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite. Will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
* Digital circuit track: Strong computer analysis skills, Digital design tools (CAD, PADS, Eagle), Digital/electronic test equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.) and various PC skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite. will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
One to three (1-3) years of applicable experience in a related field.
